UPLOAD PROCESS - Step by step
Create your account first!   To sell an item, go to: Homepage → Sell button (or) Profile → Create Listing (or) Profile → My Listings → Create Listing If you’d like to attract international buyers, we recommend filling in all notes fields in English. Uploading an item usually takes about 1 minute. PRODUCT UPLOAD PROCESS Step 1 (Select album/artist):Enter the artist and title of the item you want to upload into the "Select Artist/Album" field, then click the “Search” button. IMPORTANT! You don’t need to enter the full title to search. For example, for "Michael Jackson – Liberian Girl", it’s enough to type "Jackson Liberian", and the system will immediately suggest possible matches. However, correct spelling is very important. The system uses a database with millions of items, so in most cases you don’t need to manually enter details such as the label, titles, or other information — the system fills these in automatically. This makes the upload process significantly easier and faster. Very important: Make sure to select the correct release. Pay close attention to the record label, release identifier, catalog number, and the correct product format. Never mislead buyers by selecting an incorrect item - they should receive the exact release they are looking for.If you can’t find the right one, you can also upload it as a new item. Step 2 (Format and genre):Select as appropriate (multiple options can be chosen). Step 3 (Upload images):In addition to the front cover, you can also upload photos of the back cover and the record, cassette, etc. Steps 4–5 (Media and sleeve condition):Choose the condition that accurately reflects reality.Any information you enter in the “Notes” fields will appear on your product’s page in the Marketplace under “Details,” within the “Important notes” section. Step 6 (Price / shipping):Enter the price, then select the shipping policy or policies you wish to apply to the item. You can choose one or more of the shipping policies you previously created under “Seller Settings".Here you’ll see an “Important note” field. The information you enter here should truly be important, as it will be displayed alongside your product in the Marketplace. Step 7 (Summary):Review your details or go back if you’d like to make any changes. If everything looks good, click to publish your listing. You’re all set! Selling on DiscIcons is quick and easy: Initial setup: A few minutes, depending on how you configure your shipping policies. Listing an item: Approximately 1 minute per item. You only need to complete the initial setup once. After that, you can quickly list your items for sale.

Condition Guide (M, NM, VG+, ...)
DiscIcons Condition Grading Guide Sellers on the DiscIcons marketplace are required to accurately describe the condition of their products. The categories below provide a consistent grading system for the condition of music and film media. Honest and accurate condition grading helps prevent misunderstandings and disputes and is the foundation of the collector community. Sleeve Grading for Audio and Video Formats For CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, HD DVDs, MiniDiscs, DCCs, audio cassettes, and VHS tapes, the sleeve condition grade applies to the printed cover, booklet, paper inserts, and original non-replaceable packaging. Scratches and minor signs of wear on standard, replaceable plastic cases do not affect the sleeve condition grade, as these cases can be replaced. Exception: Digipaks, cardboard sleeves, and other unique or original non-replaceable packaging must be included in the sleeve condition grading. Any broken, damaged, or incomplete plastic case must be clearly mentioned in the item description, even if it does not affect the sleeve condition grade. Mint (M) The item and its cover are in flawless condition. A Mint grade may only be given to an item that has never been used and may still be sealed. The item is in perfect condition. This grade is rare, especially for older releases. Near Mint (NM) Item: in nearly perfect condition. It has probably never been played, if it has, no imperfections are noticeable during playback. The item must show no obvious signs of use. Cover, case: only very minor imperfections are acceptable. There should be no creases, tears, scratches, or other noticeable damage. The same applies to any inserts, such as posters and lyric inner sleeves. Many dealers do not use a grade higher than NM, as virtually no item can ever be considered completely perfect. Very Good Plus (VG+) Item: used but carefully handled, and in very good condition. Minor cosmetic signs of use may be present, but they do not affect playback quality. The surface may show slight wear, hairline marks, or very light scratches. Slight warping is acceptable as long as it does not affect the sound. In terms of playback, a VG+ item should theoretically perform just as well as a Near Mint (NM) item. Cover, case: minor signs of wear are acceptable, such as slight wear, slightly bent or turned-up corners, or small seam splits. Overall, the item plays perfectly. This is one of the most common grades for collectible releases. Very Good (VG) Item: used, but still in good condition. Signs of use are clearly visible. Surface noise may be audible during playback, particularly during quieter passages and at the beginning and end of tracks, but it is not prominent and does not overpower the sound or music. The item may have minor scratches – some of which may even be felt with a fingernail – that can affect the sound. Cover, case: more noticeable signs of use may be present. Writing, price labels, stickers, adhesive tape, or residue from these may also be present. A VG-rated item may have several of these defects, but it would not normally have all of them at the same time. Good Plus  (G+) Item: can be played through without skipping, but shows significant signs of use. Surface noise and crackling may be audible, and clearly visible wear and scratches may be present. Despite these imperfections, the record can still be played properly. Cover, case: heavily used. Wear, scratches, minor tears, and warping may be visible, particularly along the bottom or spine. Writing, price labels, stickers, adhesive tape, or traces of these may also be present. Its collectible value is lower. Good (G) Item: heavily used, but can still be played through without skipping. Significant surface noise, crackling, and scratches are audible and noticeably affect the sound quality. The surface may show heavy wear and clearly visible scratches. Cover, case: heavily worn or damaged. More significant seam splits may be present, particularly along the bottom or spine. Writing, price labels, stickers, adhesive tape, stains, or other noticeable damage may also be present. Fair (F) Item: heavily damaged and in poor condition. The item may be cracked, significantly warped, or deformed. Skipping or repeating may occur during playback, so it may not play through without problems. Cover, case: may be heavily worn or damaged, with cracks, significant tears, or water damage. The record cover and inner sleeves may be damaged or creased in several places. Poor (P) Item: in very poor condition and severely damaged. It may be cracked, badly warped, or otherwise damaged and cannot be played through without skipping, sticking, or repeating. Cover, case: in very poor condition and may be heavily worn, torn, water-damaged, or covered in writing. The cover and inner sleeves may be completely split, heavily creased, or incomplete. The record or release has very limited usability and is generally of little value.
Shipping & Packaging Guide
Proper packaging helps protect records and other physical media during shipping. DiscIcons recommends that sellers pack items carefully and securely. The most important things are providing an accurate address and using trackable shipping. Packaging vinyl records To prevent damage during shipping, sellers should: remove the record from the sleeve place the record in an inner sleeve place the record and sleeve between protective cardboard pads use a sturdy record mailer. This helps prevent sleeve splits and record damage. Packaging CDs, Blu-rays, DVDs, VHS tapes, etc. Recommended practices include: using bubble wrap placing the item in a sturdy cardboard envelope or box avoiding thin packaging materials. Packaging cassettes For cassette tapes it is recommended to: protect the case with bubble wrap use a solid box prevent movement inside the package. Shipping Sellers are responsible for: proper packaging safe shipment of the item providing accurate shipping information. Tracked shipping methods are recommended. Photos and documentation Sellers are encouraged to: take photos of the item take photos of the packaging before shipping. This can help resolve disputes if necessary.
